This diminutive instrument has been continuously gaining in popularity this entire year. We're now carrying a good selection of all four sizes in various price ranges.

Our lesson program is also humming along. It seems that for lots of folks, "free" online lessons create as many questions as they answer and that's where we come in. Personalized, private instruction can't be beat for quick answers to confusing questions.

As you've probably noticed we're now selling online and on ebay. Our used stuff on ebay sells very fast. Often in 24 to 48 hours. So if you want to bid on an item, make sure you do it quickly.

Thank you all for supporting the oldest guitar specialty store in Albuquerque. We all love what we do here, and we can't do it without you. HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!

We even had a woman from Australia telling us how helpful our site was, It gave her the final push to visit us in person when she was here on business.
Of course there is always room for improvement. Being the most tech savvy here at the store, my job is to get the store on its feet in a new playground......THE INTERNET!!!!! Marc's Guitar is quickly invading FACEBOOK at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Marcs-Guitar-Center/142495989169303

<![CDATA[Low priced guitars & Beatle song.]]>Fri, 15 Jul 2011 09:37:45 -0800http://marcsguitarcenter.com/1/post/2011/07/low-priced-guitars-beatle-song.html Hello all you guitar pickers out there,
You know, it's been almost 33 years since I started teaching guitar in my home in Albuquerque and I still can't believe how many guitar players there are both here and in the world. Playing my guitars is still one of my big joys in life and I know it is for you too.
We are proud to be carrying what is most likely the largest selection of high quality, low to medium priced guitars in Albuquerque. The recession has changed our focus a bit. We've dropped Martin, Taylor, & Guild as most of our customers are now looking for the best bang for the buck and don't want to spend the down payment of a small house to get it. So we're now concentrating on guitars, amps, mandolins, banjos and ukes that are under $500.00. We've now carry guitars that we sell for as low as $59.99 (for small sized guitars) and $79.00 (for full size guitars) that play & sound great. What makes these instruments so good is that we do up to $60.00 worth of free adjustments on every one of them before we sell them. When instruments come to stores from the factory they typically require these adjustments to play optimally (easily). This must be done after the instrument arrives at the store because fine adjustments can change during shipping. This is one of many reasons to not buy a guitar from an internet dealer. You also won't get this kind of service from a big box store (they just don't have the time it takes to provide this service).
A quick word about lessons. I had a student last week that brought in a book of Beatles songs. It had the basic chords correct, but was missing some of the best parts of the songs ie. the cool licks, intro's and bass parts. I brought the CD to his next lesson, figured out the other parts by ear, and made a much more complete and fun arrangement for him. We (myself and the other teachers here) pride ourselves on having the ability to very closely customize our lessons to each persons specific interests.
Thanks for reading this and until next time-keep on pickin'
Marc

<![CDATA[Marc's Blog. Welcome All!!!]]>Fri, 03 Jun 2011 00:00:00 -0800http://marcsguitarcenter.com/1/post/2011/06/first-post.htmlHello everyone,
Welcome to our new website. I'm going to try to blog at least a couple of times per month. So here goes. We've had a static website for quite a few years now which I must apologize for. We now hope to keep it fresh, interesting and informative. We are very fortunate in that Jonny Heffern, our jack of all trade, has the technical ability to make this happen. We plan on posting all of our monthly specials (some of which will only be on the site), doing some online free lessons, reviews of our latest merchandise and giving lots of tips about how to keep your instruments in tip top shape.
As some of you may know, I began teaching again (on a limited basis) a couple of years ago. this has put me back in touch with what our store has always been about: sharing our love of music. I had a student the other day that came in for his second lesson bursting with excitement about how he's been wanting to do this for years and is so happy that he finally did it. It's actually not unusual for us to have people come in and buy a guitar after thinking about it for five or ten years. Playing an instrument may not be on the top of everyone's list, but once they try it they often stay with it for life.
So happy strumming and we hope you'll visit our site often now that it's updated and full of helpful information about all things musical.
                                                                      -Marc :)
